[Clip] Zubari 2007.04.03 2hr SP (Takki & Kazuko visit Tetsuya & Keiko’s House)

Here’s is the second section of the episode. Sorry for the delay~ I went for a haircut yesterday, and started a new drama as well haha… Ah, in this section, Takki & Kazuko visited Keiko & Tetsuya’s house!! Maa~ Takki looks really really good in that white inner, black outer shirt, and jeans!!!!Quite fun seeing how their house looks like ne, and woah, the number of screens they have???? Also, also, the joke that Tetsuya played on Hosoki! hahahahaha…

Then, the grand piano! Haa, I like the entire ‘raburabu house’ comment Takki made. Then they also made Kazuko sit on this exercise horse-back-like thing hahahaha…. And probably Kazuko wanted to take revenge, so she ransacked their kitchen wahahaha~~ At one point, when they were in the kitchen, Takki pointed to a calendar and was scolded by Kazuko. He started laughing and then held his nose with both hands~ Was this filmed AFTER the nose injury??

Then in the dressing & music room, Tetsuya played “Venus”! And Takki just so naturally started doing the “Venus” moves LOLOLOLOLOL~~~~ Kazuko & Keiko were also dancing hahahaha… Then Hosoki brought some really YUMMY beefsteak sandwich for them (I WANT TO EAT THAT!!!!). The cream roll thing that Takki got from Osaka looked really nice too!! But I’m not a chocolate person, so the chocolate thing from Roponggi didn’t look that tempting (tho it’s probably heaven to choc lovers) heh… Then, Tetsuya & Keiko invited a “friend” to the house which turned out to be STEVIE WONDER! Takki looked so in awe when he first appeared!

The rest of the episode was an interview with some other guy which didn’t look as interesting so I did not cut out those parts haha.

  1. OMG he so super cute in these screencap
but i cant d/l anything for the past few week
    and i dont know why??
    this really suck *crycry*

  2. I just wanted to thank you for uploading all the clips and news, and to ask you to leave the links up for a couple more weeks.

I am currently on a holiday in Japan and can’t really download anything in the Yahoo Web Cafe. I will have to wait until I get home.

I do have a few cool things to report, though.

Last week we were in Kyoto and it was very crowded (tourists and sakura everywhere) so we decided to take a trip away from the madness on our own up to Mount Kurama (where Ushiwaka ne: “Yoshitsune” trained for 10 years, and by legend with the Tengu).

It was a lovely, quiet trip on a rattly little train with 2 carriages up into the mountains (very different to the Shinkansen) and we really didn’t know what we’d find when we got there). We were planning to climb up to Kurama Temple and the monument to Yoshitsune, but when we got there we stopped in a a little tea house and it was like a Takki Shrine!

Takki posters and Yoshitsune posters adored the walls, and they had a magazine and book rack with it seemed every magazine and photobook that came out when Taiga were promoting the dorama. So we spent some lovely time there chatting with the locals, sipping tea and eating soba and flipping through all the pretty photobooks. (Note: They had “kitsune soba” listed in hiragana up on the menu, and I was thinking “soba with fox meat!!!! Erm…” But it turns out kitsune was some sort of mountain vegatable :).

It was a glorious spring day and we climbed up through the various shrines and temples and forest glades and waterfalls, right up to the temple right on the top of the mountain, with absolutely glorious views. We also snapped lots of photos, especially of the “Takki Shrine”.

When we came back down again there was a store selling all sorts of merchandise and phone straps, and there were these cute little dolls of Benkei and Yoshitsune dressed up in the veil he wore famously when he dressed as a girl to come into town and fought Benkei on Gojo bridge. When I asked the lady to confirm if the dolls were Benkei and Yoshitsune, she politely corrected me — it wasn’t Yoshitsune, it was “Ushiwaka”. Yes, to the folks of Mt Kurama, he’s their Ushiwaka!

Having a fabulous time, but none of the folks at home would understand half the significance of some of the things we’re doing while we’re over here. So I thought you guys might be interested. Try and take the trip up to Mt Kurama if ever you are in Kyoto! It was a wonderful trip.

We also went to the Johnny’s Shop in Harajuku (Oh My God — Crowded, spent 2 hours over at the Meiji Shrine waiting for my ticket time to come up then another hour and a half just trying to get through the tiny store). Then wandered 5 minutes down to Takeshita Dori and the streets are LINED with Johnny’s merchandise shops and places selling posters and photos and uchiwas and concert programs and great little Tackey and Tsubasa gumball machines where you get a ball and win a prize (I won these great T&T laminated posters, even if the first one he tried to give me was NOT a poster of Tsubasa. I joked with the guy in the shop that all Japanese must look alike to him).

We also got great tickets to the last T&T concert in Koriyama (thanks to heaps of great suggestions from Jenn) and have been lucky to catch all sorts of T&T related items on TV. Last night was the second part of Romeo and Juliet and tonight is Shonen Club. I’ve also taken a real liking to this talent show called, I THINK it’s called “Mime Artist”, where people who think they sing like certain stars come on made up as them and do a performance. The Kinki Kids one was hysterical! Saw a group doing SMAP as well, but so far, no T&T.

Have also been fortunate enough to catch a lot of the T&T related interviews and announcements, related to Samurai etc. You just have to remember that the entertainment report is on the news every morning at 7:30am.

Thanks for letting me unburden my excitement on people who’ll appreciate it. And please leave those clips up just a few more weeks!

    Thanks.

  3. hi dong & youchan~ can you guys download the clips yet?

  4. Hi MICHELLE, thanks for these clips. Haven’t downloaded them yet but I definitely will coz Tackey looked so cute in your caps. HAPPY EASTER! ^^

LEAPING LUCAS, that was a nice account of your trip. You sure were lucky to get a hold of lots of these TackeyTsuba goodness on that one. Thanks for sharing them here ^^

  5. michelle,

Yes, we did take some pics of the Takki Shrine at Mt Kurama. I will post a link when I get home. And we went out to dinner in Shinjuku with some japanese friends tonight and I found out that Kitsune soba and even Tanuki soba are quite common. Not the meat of little furry animals, but the brown furry skin scraped off the top of cooked Tofu. So named because of the colour of the skin, apparently.

Yes, I think the “Yoshitsune” tour of would be a great way to see Japan. A few days ago we were in Miyajima, where there is a shrine to Taira no Kiyomori, out on a pennisula overlooking the inland sea, mountains in the background, cherry blossoms wafting in the spring breeze and his famous red torii gate in the water just off to the right. I threw a few coins in the box and told him I hoped Japan had worked out the way he envisioned.

In a few days we are heading out to Kamakura, and after giving old brother Yoritomo a piece of my mind, I am planning to break away from the pack and head out to Manpukuji temple where Yoshitsune had Benkei write the famous Koshigoe-Jo letter, begging admittance to Kamakura. Of course Yoritomo, wanting to teach Yoshitsune and everyone else a lesson about getting too pally with the Emporer in Kyoto, refused him admission, and they camped in Koshigoe before leaving, defeated. This was pretty much the beginning of the end for Yoshitsune. When he at last came back to Kamakura, it was as a head in a bucket. (Fortunately Takki was not called upon to portray this part).

Anyway, I believe Benkei’s letter is on display there in a glass case. I wonder if there’s any more Takki paraphernalia around.

I shall bring any exciting snapshots back for the faithful.

  6. hihi~ dithers, yup, takki is chou kawaii in this clip ne!! and the word “tackeytsuba” looks kinda weird at first, probably coz i’m too used to seeing “takitsuba” hehehehehe….

leaping lucas, ahhh… juz by reading about the letter, the temple, admittance to kamakura…., all the yoshitsune images start playing back in my mind.. yoshitsune’s frustration when his brother didn’t accept him into kamakura… his tearsss…. *sobs*

anyway, i cnt wait 2 see u gals again yah.this wkend!!!!!!!!

  10. Oyaho…

Am back from my excursion to Kamakura. Walked some back streets to Yoritomo’s grave. A few flowers, and some shrivelling sakura, but basically it was small and ill-maintained. He’s the friggin’ first Shogun of Japan, but nobody cares too much about him here. I asked one lady why and she said “because he was mean to his ototo”.

Then took this rickety little train trip out to Koshigoe station out on the coast right on the ocean about 15km south west of Kamakura and found Manpukuji temple, where Yoshitsune had Benkei write the famous Koshigoe letter, pleading for his brother Yoritomo to see that he had been loyal, had defeated the Heike in his brother’s name and asked for admittance to Kamakura. Of course, Yoritomo never saw the letter and eventually sent his retainers out to kill Yoshitsune and bring his head back in a barrell.

And yes, there are more Takki posters here as well, right in the same room as the famous letter in its glass case. How crazy is that! Takki posters in pride of place in this temple of enormous historical significance. I think it means that not only are the Japanese very fond of Yoshitsune, but very fond of Takki’s portrayal of him. I got the sense that the people who are close to the story of Yoshitsune, or who maintain sites and relics related to his life, have taken Takki’s portrayal of him very much into their hearts. Props to Takki!

It’s a fantastic place — way off the beaten track and full of all sorts of exciting paraphernalia in a very relaxed and accessible atmosphere. There is even some full samurai battle armour from one of the Genji cousins — Minamoto no Yoshino, I think it said his name was.

The little man in the temple came running after me as I was leaving and gave me a postcard from the temple, the Koshigoe letter text translated into english and a Takki/Yoshitsune promotional folder that he’d found somewhere. How sweet is that!

So I stood on the cliff overlooking the sea, looking back to Kamakura, and read this very sweet and earnest letter that Yoshitsune wrote to his brother.

What a great day. I took pictures and I’ll be home in a week, so I’ll put them up and post a link. Do you wanna see Yoritomo’s pissy gravesite as well?

  11. wow~~ leaping lucas!! ahh, seeing ur post juz makes me wanna teleport there immediately!! i wanna see everything! from yoritomo’s grave to the place where the letter is written, to the takki/yoshitsune promo folder, to yoshino’s armour, to to the letter translated in english! maybe during my next trip to japan, i’ll try visiting one of these places… *notes down*

  12. Ack… sorry, can I get rid of that one?
    —————-

    michelle,

Still in Tokyo but have managed to upload some piccies of above requested items (plus a few extras — for “context”) at the following url:

    http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/Innala/Tackey

(Those all night manga kissas are a revelation. )

Hope you enjoy. Look how well Takki (and Yoshitsune) is loved! Maybe with the series being shown again now on Japanese TV, it will be fansubbed somewhere online for everyone to enjoy. Although this would be a mammoth task. Does anyone know if anyone has plans to sub this and make it more accessible?

It really is a great series and Takki is wonderful in it. Anyone who ever wants particular directions to any of these places, please let me know. Also I will try and type up the Koshigoe-Jo letter text that I was given when I get back to Sydney.

  13. thanks, leaping lucas!!! i downloaded all the pics in ur gallery and read everything!! omg, i so wanna see that letter… There is an english subbed version of Yoshitsune but in tv rip quality! can find it at sars fansubs :) (sars-fansub.com?) for me, although i downloaded all 49 epis of the eng subbed, halfway thru i bought the dvd, with chinese subs, so i continued watching from there, at dvd quality~ really sugoi ne! i have to say it again, quality of the video really makes a difference!

  15. Here is that letter transcript:

Yoshitsune’s petition letter from Koshigoe, addressed to a court official scribe close to Yoritomo (whom he hoped would pass it along to Yoritomo). Yoshitsune was about 25 at the time.

    —————-

I, Yoshitsune Minamoto, presume to have cleared my father’s disgrace by working for the Emporer as a supreme commander of Kamakura-den (Yoshitsune’s older brother — shogun). In spite of my expectation of considerable reward, my achievement has not come to be praised because of unexpected ill-tale.

I have not done anything wrong but big achievement, notwithstanding of it, I am bemoaning my brother’s anger, as blood is mixed in tear. I have no chance to state my my opinion against ill tale nor return to Kamakura. Accordingly, I cannot tell the truth to him and am spending a few days in vain in Koshigoe.

I have not seen the benevolent face of Yoritomo-ko (elder brother) for a long time. It seems to me meaningless to be brothers. I wonder how the unfortunate situation comes.

I will have no chance to tell my sorrowful feeling and not be petied (sp?) as long as the spirit of my dead father comes back.

As I told you at the stage of Kisegawa, my father passed away as soon as I was born and I was taken to Maki of Koryomon at Uta in Yamato-no-kuni in the arms of my mother. I have not spent even a day, safe and pleasant, nor an hour since then.

I have survived somehow or other hiding myself from place to place, going to far country or serving humble people, for a long disturbance occurred in Kyoto at that time and I was threatened to be killed.

Meanwhile, I heard happy rumor that Yoritomo-ko had raised an army and rushed to him with great pleasure. I was ordered to overcome the Heike, our fatal enemy. I overwhelmed Yoshinaka to begin with and then attacked the Heike. I had no ambition by any means other than to conquer any difficulty and to ease the spirit of my father. As a result, I was appointed the supreme rank of soldier, Goi-no-i. It is a great honor not only for myself, but for the Minamoto family.

I, Yoshitsune, can swear to say that I have no ambition in the name of God. Nevertheless, I have aroused Yoritomo’s rage. How can I explain my feeling? I frequently asked his permission by letters, vowing not to lie in the name of God or Buddha as I thought it is the only way to ask divine protection, with no result.

I beg your benevolent co-operation to inform my mind to Yoritomo-ko. I’ll never forget your kindness for my life, provided I am forgiven by clearing my suspicion with your help.

As of May, 2nd year of Ganreki

    To reverend Zeni Inaba.

    From Yoshitsune Minamoto
