about solo concertThings that I’m grateful for are the two singles that I was allowed to release this year as a solo (artist). I really felt that I wanted to directly introduce those songs to a lot of people. Which is why there is (another) solo this time. I was really happy to be able to do a concert. But its also ‘solo’ when I do a concert as a member of Takki & Tsubasa. The (personal) feelings themselves are not any different. Because upon entering the stage, we don’t know how great our responsibilities will be, whatever they’re going to be. I don’t think that “If there are two people, the responsibilities will be reduced by half,” nor do I think that “Being by myself is tough.”
In any case, once you get on stage, the most important thing is to lead the audience into another world that’s fun and enjoyable. Whether it’s solo or unit… or more extremely put, whether its concert or a stage play, my feelings will always be the same. But depending on factors like the image or impression of the production, the stage concept, and the atmosphere of the theatre, you have to properly express each and every different point of view (that is being presented to the audience). In other words, even if you’re trying to say “I’m this kind of person!” you don’t have to keep showing the same image every time. Instead, you should show the audience a different side of yourself every time.
For example, in my solo work, I do silly things during a concert and I work with seriousness and think rationally during stage plays. But even in a single show, depending on the particular scene, I have to decide whether I need to be mature and whether I can be childish… I want to show those different sides of myself, one after another. I guess it’s like continuously transforming myself during intermissions. I think it’s time for me to have to start doing things like that, but above everything else, people who are the same in everything that they do are boring ne.
Which brings us to the topic of this solo. My recent theme is to continue bringing out new styles that are unlimited to only concerts and to continue to offer a refreshing kind of entertainment to everyone. In a way that makes it enjoyable for people of all ages, I want to bring together as many ideas and people as possible.
Also, to not do any half-finished work, I will stay focused and be articulate about the work that I’ll be producing.
During preparations, if I decide that “It’d be better if I stopped doing this,” I will re-do it from the very beginning, no matter how tough it’ll be. In other words, all the things that have been presented to the audience (even all the humorous and playful scenes) were things that the staff and I have created through deliberate planning. There’s not a single thing in the presentation that we haven’t taken into serious consideration. Like this, various experiences will continue to pile up everyday, and they will certainly become mementos that will benefit future activities.

Thank you so very much for this translation. I had not gotten seriously into more than the first paragraph of this. I think it is very interesting and shows what a serious performer Takki is.
That’s some of the things that make him so good: he expresses himself well always and understands the need for renewal. I love his being so articulate compared to so many tongue-tied performers.
