It’s past 1am… but I can’t sleep…
My laptop crashed! Or rather, it can’t boot up at all! I’ve tried more than 50 times, shutting down, restarting, plugging out the power supply, taking off the battery, force shut down blah blah… The disk seem to be spinning and all that, but the screen is totally black! *sobs* Now I can only use my bf’s laptop…
All my precious files are in there!!! My working files – Taiyou wa shizumanai raws and subs… I’ve timed until episode 5, and drafted until episode 4 *CRIES* Do I have to do it all over again???? And my T&T video clips, the scans that I haven’t posted, loads of video files, 160gb of data *sobs* I only have the other 160gb left in my external hdd, the rest are gone~~ *sobs* *sobs*
My UK colleagues will be here tomorrow, so for the next 2 weeks including the weekends, I’ll be busy, busy, busy… Don’t think I’ll even have time to plan for the trip properly (though I’ve done alot of planning over the past 2 days), and now I have to deal with this…
By the way, maybe I wasn’t clear enough in my previous posts *really sorry*, but… PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE ENBUJO’08 SHOW K *HUGS*. Goods and food stuff are alright, but please don’t tell me anything about the content of the show~~ onegaishimasu~~ I know I’m getting paranoid now, the more I try to avoid it, the more things just seem to appear in front of me lol~~ so much so that I don’t even dare to read comments on my own blog hehehehe…. Minasan, sorry about that, and thank you very much!
So, I won’t be blogging about Enbujo until I’m back. But meanwhile, hopefully, you’ll still see me posting old stuff up since I really want to complete my drama and music section as soon as possible :) Also, there’s “Ogosho Japan” on 4/15, hopefully someone records and uploads the file! ^^; There was a small article on this new show in TV Guide. I’ve scanned the 3 pages of Takki interview plus that tiny article just now, so probably I’ll try to get it posted tomorrow morning (hopefully I’ll reach the office before my UK colleagues). After that, it’ll be work, work, work…

OMG, =( I’m so sorry about your laptop. From your description, it almost sounds like a critical file that starts your Operating System was deleted or harmed in some way. That happened to me once and it cost a pretty penny to get the files back and he ended up having to reinstall the OS. =( I hope you get if fixed. Thank goodness for your BF’s comp ne!

are you sure your laptop isn’t starting up right as in it won’t boot? maybe something in the screen burned out? i had a friend who’s laptop screen wasn’t working (so black screen), but his computer was fine. hooked his laptop to a different monitor and everything was good!! maybe that’s your problem as well?!
That’s a good point about it being the monitor! I truly hope it is something as simple as that because losing files = nightmare
Um, surely there is a way to find out if it is the monitor or if there’s somewhere you can wiggle a connection to the monitor or something. Try googling on your b/f’s laptop for something on it.
I feel your pain!! I’ll help you rebuild any of your files that I already have saved but I’m hoping, praying, crossing fingers, etc. that in the end all will be well with your computer.

michelle (i changed ur username a little as your comment was showing the admin color hehe)~ i thought abt that too. but if i was thinking, it were only the monitor problem, i would have heard the startup sound after a while… but there wasn’t any sound at all coming from my laptop even after leaving it on for like 15 mins or so… the screen is just black all the way… unless the sound system is spoilt too :S
glenda~ i’ll be calling them today to see if there’s anything i/they can do. i might have to bug everyone for files soon.. but u know, i can’t remember what files are gone lol… arigato ne~ *hugs*
Michelle – no way could I trust my memory on files now! I keep a list (Word doc) going of what I have saved to disc whether it is still on my external or not. But I have suddenly realized that if I have a complete crash such as what may have happened with you—there goes the list!
