滝沢革命 2012 初日

Sorry for the late report~
As many of you might already know, the opening show ended without any major problems!

However, there was an earthquake before the show began. Kineya Katsushiro-san (one of the Kakumei staff?) blogged about the incident. He said the rehearsals were stopped and someone spoke into the mic, warning the performers to stay away from all lighting equipment and the staff to seek shelter from the overhead equipment. The entire thing lasted 20 to 30 mins but thankfully nobody was hurt~

Anyway, let’s hope that there won’t be another earthquake anytime soon.
Jya~ here are some tidbits about this year’s opening show.

** Spoiler Alert **

• There are A LOT of new costumes! But apparently, a majority of them are red? Many fans also mentioned a really kakkoii red necklace…
• During the magic corner (where Takki turns his black suit into a white suit) his pant leg got caught or didn’t come off entirely. But Takki yanked it off and continued like nothing happened ^^
• This year, they’re using 150 tons of water (sugoi!!). Fans said the power of the water was so strong during the battle scene, they could barely see Takki! lol
• The 15-minute “kumikyoku” (musical composition) that Takki wrote for this year’s show is actually composed of 5 different melodies with 5 different themes : Stillness, Turmoil, Reunion, Escape, and Passion. Fans also said that the choreography was really great~
• Remember the piano scene in Act 2? Well this year, the piano is (for some odd reason) on top of a high platform. There are no steps that lead up to it, so it’s funny that even though Hidejiji is like 70 years old and has to waddle around with a cane, he’s somehow able to jump up to and down from a high platform with ease XD The audience were giggling at this and in response, Hidejiji said “Shut up” XD
• In terms of the overall storyline, most of has remained the same as last year’s. The only changes that were made were in the opening scene, the costumes, the shamisen performance, and the addition of the kumikyoku. Oh, and there’s a lot of Tottsu (he has a lot of solo moments)! Also, this year we find out that Yuma’s not really Hideaki’s younger brother? ummm… I have no idea what the story is about anymore! lol Actually, I realized after the first year of Kakumei that there’s no use trying to understand the story. It will never make sense! XD
