  2. Oh my God… Don’t know what’s going on… Originally I guessed it must be better than episode1… They must be so sad… Anyways, dear Tackey, we will always be there to support you!!!

  3. I dont care about the rating. I still love the drama. Ryuzaki’s lines are so smart, direct and straight to the heart of his opponent. I love it

  4. 悲しいね!涙にくれリます…

So very disappointing! Maybe the slot was not that well chosen, if there are competing established programs.

  5. TBS drama department is suffering the ‘rating disease’ pretty badly imho.

First, they’re trying to revive this dying slot by using Takki’s comeback factor and new idea of storyline with the hope they can attract more of young viewers and also male viewers. However, they’re forgetting that the slot itself is the weakness because it’s Friday nite, young people go out on Friday nite.

It’s hard to cater to the young viewers nowadays, that’s why idol doramas are suffering pretty badly nowadays. kids and young adults are just not watching TV anymore, they record stuffs or just buy the DVDs.

That’s why doramas with ‘family theme’ or ‘society theme’ like Aishiteru (but this drama is brilliant of course, hands down!) or Ninkyo Helper can enjoy good ratings because other age groups like this kind of genres.

Stars factor, unless you’re Takuya Kimura or Amami Yuki, also couldn’t help doramas industry nowadays. You can list out tonnes of great stars like in Love Shuffle and Kochikame, but it still won’t guarantee you good ratings. Even Kochikame couldn’t help TBS drama department right now. But, OnI and Kochikame are TBS last resolve.

No matter what happen, TBS has to work at their hardest to save their overall rating, because although we can say we don’t care about the rating, but ratings is important for decisions like sponsorship, DVD, SP, number of episodes, second season or even movie adaptation. And for us, the fans, the rating plays an important role to make sure our stars can be in another doramas in the future.

I’ll wait for the next episode to see the rating trend. As long as it’s stable like securing 9-11% every episode, then I’m satisfied enough, at least for a drama genre like this.

  6. The problem with TBS is its playing too many Korean dramas in its network, It has built a reputation of being Korean-friendly, which is what most Japanese dislike and there is a trend where people don’t watch TBS at all that is building. Every day in 2ch thread, people laugh at TBS’s poor rating (sometimes no one program is above 10%). TBS needs to have a major reform in its programming to get its viewers back. As proven, once Kimura is gone the rating is gone again. The tagline “No TV but TBS” is also made fun of by a lot of people.

  7. hmmm, i guess we can look at it in a more positive way?

I mean, yea its disappointing, but lets be real here. With all the dramas that are going on, we knew that this was going to happen. We simply can’t and we should not have expected AMAZING off-the-chart ratings, especially when the drama started in such a “slow” manner.

But just because it doesnt have high ratings, it doesnt mean that its not a good drama. I’ve introduced it to my classmates and after they watched it, they said that Ryuzaki’s stare was so scary, it creeped them out and that during the action scenes, they felt really dokidoki. So as Takki fans, comments like that should be more important than any stupid number. Because months from now, THAT is what we’re going to remember about this drama.

Plus, its only the second episode… maybe the ratings will get better?

  8. After reading you guys’ comments… I really feel sorry for those actors… And of course, especially Tackey… Although somebody may say the viewship rating is not so important… But this is fact… And another fact is, we must also be disappointed… Yeah, there must be some other reasons apart from the story plot and actors, but fact is fact… Yesterday I also saw Tackey’s fans in some Chinese forums saying that they were disappointed with the rating… And as an overseas fan, we can just see the result, but can’t do anything… How poor…

  9. Darn the ratings!
Ratings are important. Especially considering the hardwork and time that Takki put into the promos, often with little sleep. You want to see him rewarded with higher ratings. The higher ratings would also lead to endorsements, which is the entertainer’s livelihood.

I definitely hope for higher ratings!

  10. um… im not saying that theyre NOT important? i just think that they shouldn’t be whats MOST important… and i probably made it sound like fans shouldnt be disappointed, but what i really meant was : we shouldnt be disappointed in a OMG-how-on-earth-could-this-happen?! kind of way because we knew this was coming. Especially considering that there are so many new factors that are affecting its ratings (eg, time slot, TBS’s reputation, other dramas that are airing on the same day, all the people who are TiVo-ing / auto-recording instead of watching it real time, etc)

yea, anyways, i’ll shut up about it now.

  11. bon-chan, i know u dun mean that~ XD i think it’s not too bad, considering the fact that the highest rating for that slot that day was only 13%. friday nights are always not a good time for dramas since most ppl aren’t at home… and i expected it coz since last week, we all know that the majo show and the gegege show will take the main bulk of the ratings. let’s just hope that the ratings improve for the next… 8 weeks! :)
