- Kansai region: 14.6%
Drama ratings are really on a decline in Japan ne. Sigh… But as a friend puts it, this is only a number, and a sample of the population. Let’s look forward to Episode 2, and hope that the ratings pick up… I thought the first episode was soooo goood!!

Compared to a lot of recent dramas though, that number is still REALLY good. At least it’s in the double-digits. I forget which drama specifically, but one actually only received a single-digit rating..with a lowest of 3%.
I believe this drama will do VERY well. At least I hope so. ^^
And it’s only the first episode, but I still can’t stop being in awe of it or stop thinking about it.

I think that’s good rating, because the rating at the moment is horrible. Look at Nagase’s Karei drama the first ep was 15% then down to 8.5% on the second episode. Hope Takki’s second ep doesnt not jump that low.
actually i’m a little shock about the rating. I thought it was better. Anyway, since it’s Friday night and it’s somehow a dark, complicated drama, all that may affect the rating.
I hope next episodes will get better.

actually it’s not bad (although i’m not that satisfied myself). if we look at this slot’s history,
Smile (MatsuJun) – 11.7% (1st ep), 10.1% (avg)
Love Shuffle (with LOTS of A-list stars) – 10.0% (1st ep), 8.7% (avg)
Maou (was highly anticipated due to how well the korean version, Mawang was made) – 14.0% (1st ep), 11.4% (avg)
Of course Ryusei no Kizuna was different, with 21.2% for 1st ep and 16.3% for avg rating. RnK didn’t ride solely on Nino and Ryo’s popularity, but also due to the magic combination of Higashino Keigo & Kudo Kankuro. Even I watched it for the sake of Higashino Keigo.
Still, I hope more people will show interest in OnI for the next episode. I’m praying for a stable ratings track record for this drama. This is too good to be missed.

Also when comparing with the drama that Tackey acted before, Tackey has grown up to be… a man…
I think BOSS has done better, but of course it has an array of “proven” names. I do think that a) darkness b) friday, do not help. Let’s hope the ratings improve!
I had hoped for better, considering for instance the marvelous ones for Kokuchi Sezu, and the demand for premiere tickets.

Ep1 is just a start. Besides, takki only appeared at the very last. Can’t wait to see the next ep. Dad takki, you’re not bad enough to make me thrill up to now. You know you owe me this :)
