Takki Tidbits

1) They’ve opened up the official website for “Akutou”. Takki sure looks fierce on the cover picture, doesn’t he? (^^;)

2) On a previous tidbit, we wrote that Takki will be on “SMAPxSMAP” on November 26th. We assumed that he would be on “Bistro SMAP” because that’s when it was announced that he would be making an appearance next week. But according to the SMAPxSMAP website, Takki won’t be on “Bistro SMAP”. Instead, he’ll be a guest in the “Makezugirai Tono Ryman” corner, which involves battling a makezugirai (sore loser) salaryman?? It sounds weird, but we’re intrigued XD

The next thing isn’t really a tidbit but…

I’ve started reading “Mayonaka no Panya-san” (which everyone has been referring to as “Mayopan” for short). I’m already loving Kurebayashi-san, which is the name of Takki’s character in the original novel. He always begins every reply with a smile. It makes him look yasashii, but it also makes you wonder what he’s really thinking in his head and whether there’s a special meaning behind his smile.

Takki has an irresistible dimpled smile and he’s also “yasashii yet mysterious” so I can see why they wanted him for the role. But when I read the following description from the novel, I had a little bit of trouble trying to imagine him as Kurebayashi-san…

「店員は二名。ひとりは、白いコックスーツを着た男だ。年の頃は三十代後半といったところか。縁なしの眼鏡をかけた彼は、薄く無精ひげを生やしている。上背はあるが少し猫背。口角はやや上がり気味で、そのせいか、柔和な雰囲気を漂わせている。」

“There are two clerks (inside the bakery). One person is a man wearing a white chef’s coat. I would say he’s probably in his late thirties. He wears rimless glasses and has a thin stubble on his face. He’s tall, but has a slight stoop. The corners of his mouth tend to curl upwards, giving him a gentle look.”

The “thin stubble” made me pause a little. Mmmm, I personally prefer a clean-shaven Takki. I’m not saying he won’t look good with it, but I’ll have to see it on him first. Who knows? I might love it since he looks good with practically everything!

But I’m sorry, it says “TALL with a slight stoop”? XD Isn’t Takki… the exact opposite…?
*runs and hides*

Of course, we don’t know if they’re planning to make Takki look exactly like Kurebayashi. But whatever they’re planning to do, we’re still super excited for this drama!!!
