1) Recently, NHK held an enquete to determine the viewers’ favourite Taiga Drama in 50 years. Takki’s “Yoshitsune” was the 44th one, in 2005. The results were announced on 2nd Jan, 2011.

Out of a total of 129,690 votes, “Yoshitsune” had 20,867 votes, taking the #1 spot!! Omedetou!!! ^^

2) According to J-net, there will be a new column in “Potato” magazine, starting from the February 2011 issue, which is released on 7th Jan. The title of this essay will be “Taki CHANneLAND“.

3) On the topic of Taki Channel, in the current episode #22, Takki appeared with Taki-chan! LOL~ Takki announced the results of the “Favourite Taki Channel episode” voting, but only from #10 to #6. The top 5 will be announced in tomorrow’s episode. Takichan looks bigger than I expected lol~ but the best thing was, Takki was wearing traditional Japanese clothes! And he looks good~ hehe~

4) This is something I came across.

I found out that Takizawa Kakumei’s spectacular water production is done by this company called Koei. On its website, it listed “Takizawa Kakumei” and “Jinsei Kakumei” as one of the examples of their “Space Printer” technology. That’s what they use for the “water curtain”, where words, shapes, etc are formed within the curtain. I always find it really cool, and this has become one of the signatures of Takizawa Kakumei.

5) On the topic of Takizawa Kakumei, some fans are speculating (and I do think so as well…) that Takki will soon hand over the production to Nakayama Yuma. Johnny-san had expressed the possibility of Yuma being zachou of a butai, of breaking Takki’s record of being youngest zachou in Imperial Theatre. One of the signs they said, is during the last scene of Takizawa Kakumei this year, when Takki said to Yuma “next time it’s your turn to have a revolution (kakumei)”. I have nothing against Yuma. In fact, out of the three in NYC, I prefer him the most…

But I still feel a bit uneasy. Handing over yet another butai to his kouhais? Of course, it’s only speculation. But somehow I feel that Takki is still too young to be focusing on directing work. I know he loves behind the scenes stuff, I do too. People who know me will know how much I love seeing Tono backstage. But I just feel that it’s such a waste for someone with his kind of face (and body) and acting skills… to be solely doing backstage stuff. As a fan, we want to see him in the foreground (and ideally, backstage as well lol~). He can still direct when he’s older, but for now, I really still want to see him in dramas, in movies…

Recently, I was watching Hotaru no Hikari 2 and Naohito had so much charm in one particular scene that I was like dokidoki all over again. And I think that man is already almost 40. I believe Takki is one man who can still exude a large amount of charisma at that kind of age. I don’t mind him giving up Kakumei… ONLY if he does a renzoku drama in its place! Of course, that’s not up to me to decide… sigh.

  1. You tidbit no. 5) make me feel……..weird.
I can’t explain this feeling, but same as the feeling when I know about Dreamboy.

    I don’t understand Johnny’s policy at all.

But this may be good news, he may have more time for drama, movie or variety show.

  2. yyyaaaayy!!! omedetou to the cast of yoshitsune! esp. to tono <3

once again i want to thank u mich for always keeping us updated …

and i agree with u i would not mind if takki hands over his butai but atleast in exchange of that i hope he does some dramas lols!! i mean his acting is ssoooo great plus he has the looks for it … behind cam is great job. but as a fan it's nice to see tono act and perform as well :D

  3. Thanks Mich.
Frankly speaking, a little bit surprise that Yoshitsune got the first place (I thought it was Ryomaden). Anyway congradulations!!
Yes, Takki in traditional New Year clothes really look good. Genki ne ^^
I think there must be some day that Takizawa Kakumei comes to an end, and I don’t mind anyone else breaking Takki’s record of being the youngest zachou. But I hope they can give Yuma (or whoever it is) a brand new butai without calling “kakumei” again. To me “Kakumei” always belongs to Takki, and only Takki.

  4. Omedetou Takki..^^

And I agree with 109zz,I hope they will make a new name for Yuma’s butai. Coz for this time Kakumei I always think Kakumei is for Takki.
And yes, if someday Takki handover the Kakumei to Yuma..I hope there will be a new dramas or movies for him. I want see him in the big screen.

Thanks Mich for the update. :)

  5. mich, have you seen some titles of newspaper? J san want Yuma to be the youngest zachou and Tono to direct it.
I think Tono already know how to go the next step.
what we can do is to wait and respect Tono’s choice.Time will tell everything.
