According to newspapers today, Johnny’s Jimusho will be holding a fundraising event called “Marching J” on April 1~3 from 10am~6pm at the plaza in front of Yoyogi Daiichi Taiikukan (First Gymnasium of Yoyogi National Stadium). All members of Johnny’s will be there.
For the first time ever, all 100+ members of Johnny’s will be participating in one single event. They will be appearing on stage in batches of 10~15. They’re also not planning to perform. Instead, they’ll be dressed in normal clothes and will be doing MCs to appeal to the crowds. Johnny’s Jr and trainees will be offstage, holding donation boxes.
The event will be held outside to help save electricity, but in the case of bad/rainy weather, they will move the event inside the gymnasium. Nevertheless, 200,000~300,000 people are expected to show up at this event. So they will be laying down strict security measures and they’re also expecting heavy congestion around the perimeter of the event.
However, this is not the last of “Marching Johnny’s Japan.” They will continue to hold charity events every month of this year. On the 29th of the following month (May), Johnny’s Jr will be participating in a baseball charity match at Tokyo Dome. All the money raised will be donated to the children at the disaster-struck areas.
