Went to bed at 10pm last nite! 8 hours of sleep felt good! Alarm rang at 6am. Woke up, pressed “Snooze” and went back to sleep. Did that about 6 times *lol* and finally woke up at close to 7am! Hahahaha… After packing my フモã•ã‚“, clothes, and laptop into my bags, I went back to bed. That was already 7.45am. I set the alarm to 8am :)
Then, as I was lying on the bed, I felt the bed move! Opened my eyes.. no, the lights are still there, nothing’s shaking. Maybe it’s me! Maybe I have ‘vertigo’ or something that Ling mentioned before few months ago…. Closed my eyes again… Bed moves again! It happened another time before the 8am alarm went off…
Then I asked my dad if he felt the house moving. He said no, but told me that there was an earthquake in Sumatra (Indonesia) last night, 8.something on richter scale! But I told him I felt it this morning, not last night. On my way to work, watched the news on the bus… And there were 2 more quakes this morning? sort of like the after-shock? but at 7.something on the richter scale. And yesterday during lunch, my colleagues and I were still talking about the previous earthquake that we felt in Singapore… Scary…
While listening to Epilogue on å…‰ this morning, I started to think about how it is like to have natural disasters where you’re living. Growing up in Singapore means we do not get to experience such things. I won’t know what to do if there was an earthquake or typhoon, say when I’m on holiday in Japan or Taiwan etc… We take things like this for granted some times. I feel quite lucky to be in Singapore, where although there are other problems as well, we do not need to worry too much about natural disasters.
Finish rant. Back to work~
Ah~~~ I slept only 4 hours ne.
I started reading the morning newspaper & thought of you & several others! Decided to come see if you might have posted about it because our paper’s article said that the last quake could be felt in Singapore. I’m glad you are all right ^_^ They had a map showing the different areas and I was pointing out to my husband “I know people here…and here..and here…and a bunch here..” I hope everyone else is okay also!
thanks, glenda~ we only felt tremors here coz we’re close to indonesia. but i read that there was yet another earthquake? and tsunami warning? ahhh.. i hope everyone in indonesia is okay…
Mich, I felt the tremors yesterday in the office. I thought it was me feeling sick in the office until I saw the TxT calendar in front of me swaying violently. *lol*
My secretaries were all panicking and taking the lift down to escape but er, we were on the 47th storey, if the building had collapsed then, we could not have run anywhere. XD
honto? i was still wondering if u and ling were in office yesterday, coz they said raffles area loads of ppl were evacuated… this morn i also thot i was sick (thot i slept too much after not-sleeping-a-lot for the past week lol)…
Haha, yah, those people were just out in the streets. Luckily tonight there’s no more tremors coz I am still in the office! T___T
