[Report] Takizawa Kabuki 2012 – Act 1

Iya~ Many things about this trip were unexpected! First of all, Mich and I live far from each other, so we didn’t expect to meet again so soon after Kakumei. Then, somehow “the Takki stars aligned” and we ended up with some unbelievable seats for the opening show! Some of our other seats paled in comparison, but they were still nice considering that they were from Jticket International and we got to watch the show from various angles.

It’s the last year of Takizawa Kabuki, so this was definitely a nice way to end it before the return of Enbujou next year ^^

08 April (18:00) – 1F, left sajiki box seats, front row!!
09 April (18:00) – 1F, E row, center block, left
10 April (13:00) – 1F, F row, center block, left
10 April (18:00) – 1F, K row, center block, right
14 April (13:00) – 1F, G row, right *
14 April (18:00) – 1F, K row, left *

(* Bon’s shows after Mich went back)

[Report] Takizawa Kabuki 2012 – Venue, Goods (and the Food…)

I’m SO sorry for the late post. By the time we were done with the bento sets etc, it was already past 2am… and we were sooo tired last night that I headed for bed halfway through the report… Anyway, here it is. First, the venue i.e. Nissay Theatre.

[Report] Takizawa Kakumei 2012 – Act 2

Continued from our Act 1 report.

2 – 1 : Again, the Forest of Kumano

Act 2 Overture

The lights dimmed, music played in the background, and the water curtain showed the words “Shinshun Takizawa Kakumei Act 2”. One of the Jrs (Otsuka-kun) walked out and talked about Newton’s prediction of the end of the world, same as previous years.

The music changed and the spotlight shone on Hideji who was hanging from a wire near the far right corner of the 2nd floor, just like previous years. We sat on the 1st floor on the 27th so we actually saw his shadow on the screen before seeing the real Hideji. But we were laughing like crazy coz we could see the shadows of the many little Hidezos that were hanging from his walking stick!

[Report] Takizawa Kakumei 2012 – Act 1

I think this is the first time Mich and I have ever worked on a trip report together? But then again, this is also the first time we’ve ever watched a butai together! Even though we’ve known each other since… 2006? Anyway, there will not be a Kakumei DVD this year, so we’ll try to write down as much as we can remember~

This year, we only went to two shows because we lost the senshuraku ballot. Our seats also seemed disappointing at first, but after watching the shows, we realized that they were actually pretty good!

  • January 27 @ 18:00, 1st floor, N row, center
  • January 28 @ 13:00, 2nd floor, C row, right

Anyway, onto the show!!

[Report] Takizawa Kakumei 2012 – Venue & Goods

First, the venue – Teikoku Gekijou (Imperial Theatre). Like previous years, there’s a well-lit huge poster at the entrance of the theatre, beside the ticket counters.
