It seems there will be 10 episodes. An extended teaser trailer has been released on the official website. Btw, there’s something bugging me which maybe long-time Johnny’s / Takki’s fans can help with – why are there almost no behind the scenes type photos of Takki on the drama’s website, Twitter, FB? There are like maybe only 2-3 images of him as the Kairi character. He’s the main male lead yet there are tons of photos of the rest of the cast. Some of the PR launch event photos have even excluded him. Very strange!
PS: Mich & Marie, I thought your translation of 泥棒猫 as “thief” was very diplomatic … Instead of the more harsh “homewrecker” :-)

that’s johnnys for you. copyright issues. they are more relaxed now, as they actually allowed that huge pic of takki on their homepage, and in the relationship charts. if this were a few years back, “kairi” would only be a silhouette haha

even on their official insta or twitter, they are not allowed to post pics of johnnys cast…

    大丈夫?

If you need help with anything that I am capable of, please do not hesitate to ask (sub file retiming, locating RAWs, etc). You do so much for us, I’m always eager to give back.

I hope all is well with you and yours. Please don’t worry about getting the episodes out any faster than is convenient for you. Your work is highly appreciated, so take as much time as you need to live your life and get to this project when and if it is unstressful.

    Thanks again for everything.

To my fellow fans eager to catch ep08, I can report that watching the RAW without a word of Japanese study it is still quite easy to follow the large important themes – even the shocking cliff hanger at the end of the episode. Give it a try!

When a sub version becomes available watch again and discover how much you actually understood. You’ll be surprised.

    Enjoy!
    RR

    Hey,

It’s been a while since my last visit. Great that you guys are still subbing Takki’s stuff. I’m taking all the available episodes. Thank you for sharing :)

Does anyone know where that gate in episodes 1 and 8 is? It looks really pretty, would love to go and see it when I come back to Tokyo next spring :)

    • Anne says:

It’s at Akasaka Palace or the State Guest House. I didn’t know there’s this neo-baroque style structure in Tokyo either until this dorama. Reminds me of Versailles! The website has info on opening times, when it’s closed to the public, entry ticket applications etc. I’ll be checking it out next spring as well :-)
