Special thanks to Nyanco for checking through my translation! ^^

Takki’s comment was aired during Matsuoka Masahiro’s “TOKIO Nightclub” last Saturday night, on 24th October. Matsuoka-kun (also known as Mabo) also talked about Takki after that.

Comment from Takizawa Hideaki:

To the listeners of TOKIO NAITOCLUB (Mabo: he sounds fresh~) and to Matsuoka-kun, hello, this is Takizawa Hideaki. (Mabo: Did he just say Matsuo-kun?) Well, if I were to say, what kind of person is Matsuoka-kun in my eyes ne, ya~ppari ne, just as he looks, he gives me the impression of a “good big brother”. Well, although we don’t really have the chance to meet ne. Well, but like at the year-end Countdown Live, like in the dressing rooms, there were times when we were together. Like when he was going back, or when he was leaving, he didn’t say stuff like “ja ne, ja ne, bye byeee~”, instead he gave sudden and dashing “Otsukare!”s (in the way Mabo says it~) (Mabo: *LOL*). Watching him disappear from the back, I thought “Uwaah!! Coool!!!”. Really ne, he is manly, and a good big brother ne! Well, this is the kind of image I have of Matsuoka-kun.

Well, I am actually doing a radio show too ne. (Mabo: Hey!) To everyone who’s listening to Nippon Housou, I hope that you’ll also tune in to the show after this, “Tackey no Takizawa Denpajou”. Because we’ve prepared some great presents, so everyone please tune in. And this was Takizawa Hideaki.

After the comment aired, Mabo said:

What’s the great present that you’ve prepared… Iya iya iya, Takki ne, these guys are disgusting ne. What is it about “big brother, big brother, big brother”, such a thing… this isn’t Shinjuku’s what-th chome yo. Hey… please stop it yo, it’s really disgusting!

But ne, yeah, well, Takki is of course, really, I knew him as soon as he entered the company. He is perhaps, among all my kouhais, the most… how should I say… perhaps, professional, or really matured ne. I feel this coming the most from Takizawa ne. Indeed I’ve heard this from many other kouhais too, that Takki has indeed a very huge presence ne. Yeah.

That’s why ne. It’s Takki that made me think, “Ah, it’s great that I’m this guy’s senpai!”. If I were Takizawa’s kouhai, he’d be like “You, Matsuoka, be more serious!” But because I’m his senpai, I’ve become a cool big brother. If I were his kouhai, I’d only be an impudent brat ne. I think it’s great that I’m his sempai! *laughs*~~

But indeed, things like the way he thinks of stage concepts, or the persistence he has towards songs, well, I don’t really have the chance to work on these, but this is what I’ve heard from others, from the staff… that Takizawa is really what they commonly call “a pro among pros”.

Previously during a live show, we also had such a discussion, that for Johnnys, there is such a trend ne. Erm… like Higashi-kun, you know? Higashi-kun, eh… Koichi, Takizawa… this kind of trend exists ne. Certainly, they are similar ne. Higashiyama-senpai and Takizawa, Koichi… they all have it ne, what they call “stoic”-ness. Yeah. That’s why, towards Takizawa, I’ve never once seen him as a kouhai. Just by looking at him, I think he’s great na. Yeah. Takki, thank you. Thank you so much.

After this, Mabo played “Hikari Hitotsu” :)

And the Takizawa Denpajou episode that night (and the following week’s too!) was soooo much fun!!! Takki had his best friend Hina over as special guest, and they were so funny~ Taki Ranger and Nasu Ranger LOL! More about that soon, ganbarimasu~~

  1. Mich, so wonderful of you to have translated this! And thanks to Nyanco as well of course. You are getting truly skilled.

Matsuoka/Mabo is funny, but I think his comments on Takki are sincere. I have heard him likened to Domoto Koichi before as well.
