雪之丞変化大好き~

I finally watched “Yukinojo Henge” with chinese subs (added download links here) and understood everything!! SUGOI NA!!!! It’s really a good drama, even if the rating might seem to suggest otherwise… Takki’s portrayal of the effeminate Yukinojo and robin-hood Yamitaro was really convincing. Actually Yukinojo’s female stage roles are challenging enough on their own!

I love all the Yukichan scenes where his face was in white paint (in his dressing room), and of course the Sagi Musume dance scene at the end. Yamitaro’s nose-mask was cool too haha. And after everything, Yamitaro was so willing to give up his life to protect Yukinojo~ that’s just so sweet! ^=^

Thought I’d post up a few screencaps which I uncontrollably took off a scene… which is probably my favourite scene — the part where Yukinojo, face painted white, stared at himself in the mirror, with images of the woman he loves and his parents’ deaths flashing through his mind… Love vs Revenge. As the camera zooms in, with that same bgm as the very first scene of the drama, he continues to stare at himself in the mirror and…

OMG~ THAT EYES OF HIS!!! SO FULL OF EXPRESSION, SO FULL OF SADNESS…

雪ちゃん大好き!!!! ☆

I didn’t know there was a link to the role Yukinojo played on stage (as a woman who got close to the General’s son for revenge but fell in love with him in the end~). But this scene was really moving for me… My heart cried for him when I saw that pair of eyes very slowly starting to sparkle…

And of course, I still love that very first scene of the drama, where he so erotically paints his face in the candlelight ^v^

Sighz… Off to study for final test tomorrow…

  1. yup! it’s a good drama… but i think the rating for the period remakes always hardly to reach 10%, so 9.7% is quite ok i guess…

good luck n all d best for ur test!

  2. yup~ i was looking at the ratings for NHK’s jidaigeki and they always hover around 9-11%? plus this is a remake~ so i guess 9.7 is a decent rating ^_^

  3. I’ve watched it 3 times already. Takki really did great acting in this drama. I read a quite good comment for Takki by the drama critic who’s known as the scathing one, also read many good feedbacks from the viewers.

Now, I heard NHK is receiving many requests from people who’ve watched “Yukinojou-” to make another masterpiece “Genji monogatari” of Takki and the same directer Mayuzumi. Crossing my fingers :)

  4. nyanco~ me too! 3 times, 3 different files lol~ so happy that there’re many good feedback from viewers. ah, genji monogatari ne~ i must go google that up hehe :)

  5. lol i just thought the same for this drama, i really loved it and thought it was really good.
Takki is really great in that drama, and especially loved the parts where he played Yuki. And i really loved the parts where he was putting on his make-up too. AND my favorite scene is the same as you ^^ That particular scene is amazing, Takki shows how well he can play without even saying a word. Those eyes full of tears retained, full of many different emotions is incredibly beautiful.
i’m so glad you liked it ^^; i’m now in my Yukinojo loving phase :p so sad the HQ version won’t play smoothly on my computer ^^ i’m really thinking of buying the dvd of this drama if it comes out ^^ i wish someone had make subtitles for it ^^

  6. mabo~ deshou! that scene is so amazing!!! ^_^
i have problems with large files too sometimes… if i use it on full screen, the video will be slowed down and a/v won’t be in sync after a few seconds…
