No more Takizawa Enbujo next year…

The shows tomorrow (4/26) will be the FINAL of all “Takizawa Enbujo” shows ne.

Takki came out alone for the curtain call today, after the regular senshuuraku (4/25, 18:00 show). He spoke about his plans for next year, then said he’s going to have a shower, before leaving the stage. Next year, he will stage a new butai “Takizawa Kabuki (temporary title)” at Nissay Theatre in April/May.

I’m really grateful to Takki for telling us his plans ne. At least we’re not kept in the dark~ Tono, arigato! But I feel a little sabishii ne… I’ll miss Takizawa Enbujo so much!!!! And Shimbashi Enbujo too, I love the theatre so much! It feels warm in there~ But I also love “Takizawa Kabuki” best in Takizawa Enbujo, so… as much as I’ll miss Enbujo, I also look forward to what Takki will have in store for us next year.

Ah, such mixed feelings now~ It’s been a really emo day for me yo!

Update: As Kabuki-za will be renovating for 3 years starting April 2010, its plays will be staged in Shimbashi Enbujo. Takki said today that we have to/he wants to respect traditional kabuki, that’s why Takizawa Enbujo will be taken out from the schedule. Thanks, Nyanco, for this info! I’m really glad Tono said that ne. I don’t feel so bad anymore lol~ and I still can hope that after Kabuki-za’s reconstruction is done, Takizawa Enbujo will return to Shimbashi… even if it’s a fool’s hope haha!

  1. mich, i share the same sentiments with you…well at least we know he’s moving on.. to something new,..let us move on with him. Hontoni Arigato, Tono sama..

  2. me too.. n to think that I’m so close to miss out on this yr’s enbujou made me treasure the trip’s memories even more. And HONTO NI ARIGATO, TONO! For not keeping us in the dark and play guessing game. I love the Kabuki and love the theater as well, but same as Irene, Tono, we’ll move on with u wherever ur direction is ne, just like Tegami! But this time, allow us to say arigato to u!

  3. he is a sweet person… nothing can i do but to love him even more. i’m so happy for him to have such pure and kind thought. i will miss enbujou really badly but i will continue supporting him in whatever he’s doing…

  4. Wow, that’s sad that this is it (so far) for Enbujou, but it will be interesting to see an entirely kabuki show from him. I’ve always been quite fond of traditional Japanese kabuki, so I’ll be excited to see what he does with it.
I hope Enbujou will return afterwards. Enbujou is kind of a staple now. I’m grateful to Tono for always keeping us informed.

  5. Whe I first saw the title, I felt very sad because we can’t see the Takizawa Enbujo again next year, But when I know he will start Takizawa Kabuki, I feel so exacted~ Thank you Tono~

  6. I am even happier now that I did get to see Enbujou this year! I feel like Kat about it. I do appreciate his explaining the projects. It is always so frustrating to be left to speculations and guesses by the jimusho.

And I look forward to a Kabuki show. There’s Tono for you, always moving ahead and trying a new challenge!

  7. Um…. no more enbujo ne….

It’s my routine to read takki tidbits of each show and read your enbujo reports and every news related to enbujo, eventhough I’ve never seen real enbujo but I love to read all details about it for four years.

I think Takki must be the one who miss enbujo the most, then, we just waiting our Tono to bring back enbujo again.

  8. No more Enbujou ? So sad, wanna cry after hearing this news. I will definitely miss Takki’s Enbujou. First time I met / saw Takki in person was thru Enbujou in 2006, my dream came true. Takizawa Kabuki next year ? Really can’t wait. Mich, Nissai Theatre has also warm welcome air there, Tackey “The One” was held there too, well what more can we do except always give our loves & support to Takki forever :)
