INTERVIEW 04
Message to FANI think from now on, I want to take the time to continue fulfilling the requests of many people. I have a lot of gratitude towards the fans who have always supported me. Especially after I did the taiga drama Yoshitsune, I’m happy that people of all ages have been coming to see my stage plays. Because it is really an honor to be requested by people of various ages. I think that from now on, I want to take the time to continue fulfilling the requests of many people. I want all of my fans to (continue to) watch over me, over a long span of time. Sometimes, it might seem like I’m doing some crazy things (laughs), but I definitely would never do something without having a plan for it, and there will always be some sort of meaning behind it. So from now on, if I do something that surprises everyone, I’d be happy if everyone could accept it and anticipate the activities that follow.
About this concert… I want to show something that’s relieving and light-hearted that the fans could enjoy. Of course, people have various interests, so to show something that would please everyone of every genre is realistically a very difficult thing (to do). But what I can do is create a memory that will remain in everyone’s hearts; one that would make you think, “The concert from that day, had a lot of impact ne”. And with that memory in their minds, I think there would be a lot of people who’d think “I want to see the next one”. As I thought about it, that’s how it became “I have to do something flashy like Taki Ranger” (laughs). Because the strength of the impact should remain in everyone’s memories.
For now, I have shows in Yokohama, Nagoya, and Osaka, but in the future, I would like to go to various places around the country as a soloist. It might take a long time, but I certainly want to make it come true some day. Without rushing it, please wait for it patiently! In addition to that, I have one more dream. I want to have a meeting with all my fans one day. It won’t be a concert or a stage play, but an actual meeting where everyone could meet up and express their points of view (laughs). There, we could share our feelings and make business connections of all kinds (laughs). I think it’d be really fun if we could come into contact that way. I hope that some day, we will be able to do this. I, too, will wait patiently (for that day).
I want the fans and I to exist as each other’s “mirrors”.
Perhaps it’s a relationship where we can give each other motivation and make improvements together. If we’re able to interact with each other in that kind of mature way, I think we would really have the strongest bond. From now on, let’s take the time to build up such a wonderful relationship!
