3 Q&As from Takizawa Denpajou 2010.02.06

Tono talked about the accident during Saturday’s Denpajo. He usually doesn’t start off by reading a letter, but I think there were many mails from fans regarding the injury, and he didn’t want us to worry, that’s why he chose to talk about that first.

Opening
Konbanwa. This is Takizawa Denpajou, Takizawa Hideaki. Saa, this year too, I’ve been doing butai from 1st Jan onwards, and both “Jinsei Kakumei” and “Takizawa Kakumei” have ended safely~ Thank you very much. Thank you everyone for your support. Eh… here I’d like to talk about a mail.

From Hiro who lives in Osaka.
Is your injury alright? During the rope performance, you fell and hit your back, right? Although you continued as though nothing happened, but it was definitely painful. Tono, you are strong ne! I really respect you. I enjoyed the butai.

I see. Well, yeah, there was one day that I fell down during the rope action and hit my back. That day ne, although I have caused everyone to worry a bit, but for me, at that moment… to be honest, I didn’t feel any pain ne. Human beings are strange ne. It was from quite a height… but that fall seemed really long. Maybe, it was short in real, but for me, it seemed that I was in the air for a long time ne. I was thinking of loads of things, like “Oh no! What should I do after this?”, “In what way should I continue?”, “In what way should I cover this up?” etc…

Then after I fell, without realising it, I looked at Nishiki-san, you know. And he had that “Let’s continue!” kind of eyes! After that, I watched the video from that day. Actually, I stood up after about 2 seconds after falling. But within that 2 seconds, I heard the audience’s screams, and after that I looked at the juniors, and also had eye contact with Nishiki-san. In 2 seconds, I had various conversations with various people, and did various things. And I thought, “Ah! I must continue!” and stood up immediately, and maa, how should I put it… carried on like nothing had happened. Un.

Maa, really~ the power of the butai (stage) is great na. If it happened usually, perhaps I would have winced ne. Un… but we were also that much psyched up. Maa~ now I’m totally fine ne. My body is totally alright. I’m really sorry to have caused everyone to worry. If there is a chance again, please come and watch the butai. I’ll be waiting.

I’ll skip to the “Danwashitsu Takizawawa” section, where Takki answers mail from fans. I’ve chosen these 2 questions as they are rather interesting hehehe…

From: Kei (Tokushima-ken)
Tono, konbanwa. (Konbanwa.) In Jinsei Kakumei, and in Takizawa Kakumei too, you get totally drenched, don’t you? For one show, may I know how many pieces of underwear do you bring along? Eh, at the very least, you would need 2 pieces, right? It’s none of my business, but I’m curious so I’ll try asking. Also, for the washing of underwear, if it’s not done everyday, won’t it accumulate?

I see! Ah this is a good question ne, this one! Really, I don’t usually bother about such things yo, if I were the audience. It’s incredible naa. Ano ne, it’s not underwear you know. Actually, rather than underwear, I wear spats (leggings). I’ll take off my underwear, and put on only the spats… I’ve been doing that for the shows.

Generally, at the beginning I’ll wear 1 piece, and the last scene of the first Act is a rain scene, so I’ll be totally drenched, and after the Act ends, I’ll change. For the 2nd Act, there’ll be a new piece. So, for one show, there will be 2 pieces ne. Yes, 2 pieces, then for the night shows, again there are 2 pieces. So it’s 4 pieces? Ah, 3 pieces? There are about 3 pieces that I’ll wear ne~ Then, ma, the washing is by OT. *laughs* Recently the OT that hasn’t been appearing here seems to be diligently doing the washing ne. Un… but you are curious about such things ne. It’s interesting. But ne, this thing about my spats is interesting. At the most… is it the edge… or what should it be called… the bottom? or on the edge of the left, there are always various (iron-on) patches on it yo. Like the patches of pro-wrestler masks… or kitty-chan… or apples… etc. Then, ano, I have many spats, so I’m also having a bit of fun having various patches on it ne. I’m also playing with such things ne. I see… Ma, in one day, there are about 3 pieces right? Hai~ thank you very much. Saa, let’s move on.

From: Yayoi (Gifu-ken)
Tono, konbanwa. (Konbanwa.) A few days ago, on TV, there was the no.1 best seller of “Donmaruki” (ドン○キー), and do you know what item it was? (Oh, I don’t know ne~) Eh~ guess what, the no.1 is Tono’s favourite nattou! (Oh~~) It’s unexpected ne. Eh~ Tono, do you also buy nattou from Donmaruki? Otherwise, do you have a shop which you are picky about?

I see… Eh, nattou in Donmaruki? Ehh~~ that’s unbelievable! It’s really unexpected, certainly unexpected ne, somehow I don’t really have the impression of people buying foodstuff from Donmaruki ne. For me, I don’t really buy (from there) ne. I have bought stuff like sweets or drinks before though. Ehh… it’s unexpected ne~ For me, when I buy nattou, I have a nattou brand that I like, so I buy from the supermarkets that sell such a brand ne. Yeah, I go to places like supermarkets to buy ne.

The other day ne, I went to the supermarket in the middle of the night yo. And somehow it was quite crowded too at night ne. It was a 24-hour supermarket and it was crowded. And there was a long queue to the (cash) register. And I thought, “Ah, this register has no queue!”, so I thought “Ah~then, I’ll line up here~”. And then I went over there yo. Then, there was no shop attendant (cashier), and so I waited yo. And when I thought, “Eh? Isn’t this strange? This supermarket~”, (I realised that) I had to do it myself, do the barcode *BEEP* thing. (hehehe~ the way he said *BEEP* was so cute!) Yeah, it’s self-service. And because I bought a lot of things *laughs* so I did it myself for everything, one by one *laughs* and I was alone so it was embarrassing. But it was interesting~~ Iya, recently somehow I’ve been thinking, that supermarkets are incredible naa~ Un… I see… As for nattous (being the top-seller) in Donmaruki, I’m surprised ne. Hai~ thank you very much!

Thanks to Nyanco for helping me QC my translations! XD

I can imagine him standing at the self-service cash register beeping all his boxes of nattous and foodstuf, one by one :)

  1. the part on the underwear was really funny! LOL. i won’t be thinking of such a thing too so i was as perplexed at Takki. xDD

ahh ~ “BEEP” sound, so cute. your notes at the end made me imagine it too. hehe.

thanks to you and Nyanco for this! ^^

  2. Thank you so much for your translation ne!!!

I am glad that I know he was alright.

I love a question that ask about underwear,

it makes me to be funny

  3. Thanks so much to you and Nyanco for the translation. This was most interesting and fun. Can’t say I had particularly thought about his underwear [!], but I was reassured about the fall.

And of course, amusing to visualize him checking out his stuff at the supermarket…Wouldn’t one like to be in line behind him? The one time when I wouldn’t feel like hurrying the customer.

I am a little puzzled by the word spats. To me, in English spats just cover the top of the shoe and the ankle. They are an older outer garment not worn anymore. Leggings, of course, we all know.

  4. That ‘underwear’ part is funny~ Ha~
But can anyone tell me who’s ‘OT’ who washes the spats for Tackey?~
